Mia Saunders needs money and fast after her Dad is threatened by her ex over a gambling debt, and the only way she can think of managing it is working for her Aunt's escort firm. Living with her client for a month and attending business dinners doesn't sound too bad, especially when Mia learns that she doen't have to sleep with anyone she doesn't want to. Until she meets her client, Wes. Wes is a talented screen writer and budding director, as well as a surfer, and the last thing he expects is to start to like his dark haired escort any more than as a friend...
I finally decided to read January after reading Lola @ Lola' Reviews' review and hearing Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun rant about the series, and I didn't regret it for a moment. January was an engaging and entertaining read.
I loved the relationship between Wes and Mia. There was plenty of chemistry between them, especially in the bedroom, but there was also plenty of banter between the two of them. I especially loved Mia's buffering skills and watching her scare off gold diggers!
Mia was a great character. She was conflicted about what she was having to do to get money for her father and that showed a rounded personality. Plus she actually knew who she was and didn't cave to oter people, even when she really wanted to.
I also liked seeing Mia interact with other women and being their friends; both her old friends and ones that she made along the way. Again this rounded out her character and pushed the story along at the same time.
I'm excited to see where this series is going, and I'll definitely be reading more of it!
