Chloe is considered young and naive by the heads of the O corporation, the forerunners of the sex industry. As a legacy, Chloe is guaranteed an interview, but after that she is on her own. Using her ability to read people and situations, Chloe does everything she can to ensure that O Corporation takes notice...and to give her clients everything that they desire.
The Future of Sex was fascinating, there's no other word to really describe it. There were some graphic scenes of sex acts in the book, but I did feel that there was far more to the story than that, and that Maxxwell really delved into what could happen to the sex industry in the future.
Though effectively the story revolved around how sex workers (like Chloe) would interact and perform (because I can't think of a better word to describe what they do in the book) there were also touches of what could happen to the porn, erotica and accessory markets. Which I'll be honest, I've never seen done before.
I'm yet to make up my mind if this is simply sci-fi or crossing the realms into dystopia (though there is another series tightly linked to this one called The Beam which I intend to read soon). It was certainly an interesting concept and I'm interested to find out how things work for 'normal' people.
I enjoyed The Future of Sex, it was something a bit different!
