For years Sidney has pretended to be insane so she could keep her own safe space away from the men trying to kidnap her. When Aland first sees Sidney on a tv screen he knows that she is his mate, but meeting her shows him that he has to make her trust him. Despite having been the victim of several attempted kidnappings, Sidney finds she can trust the mystery man who has now appeared, but can she really be his?
YES! A female character who isn't just strong in her own right but has the same powers and abilities as the male characters. Sidney was a seriously kicka** heroine who wouldn't let anyone do anything she didn't want them to. This was great especially considering that I wasn't sure what Sidney would be like after the first book!
It was also interesting having a heroine who was in the know and not turning the hero away because she didn't understand, but rather because she understood a little too well. It made Aland and Sidney's story stand out, though the chemistry was still there!
There was a lot more information about the Gatekeeper's powers in Somber Resplendence than in the previous book, adding to the world and the culture. It worked well without resulting in an information overload!
Mandy M Roth does it again, her books never fail to entertain!
