Jane knows that her days are numbered, though no one can tell her why she's dying. Moving away from her old life, she focuses on her one goal; paying off her medical bills and living out the rest of her life in peace. But there's bagpipes playing in the back of her mind drawing her towards something new. And when that something new turns out to be Iain MacGregor, she is thrown into a world that she didn't fully believe existed...

Michelle M Pillow does it again! I'm never disappointed when I read one of her books, and Spellbound was no exception. Even though this is book 2, it is the first one I've read in this series, and that is something that I love about it. You can pick up any book from any of her series and be transported to another world easily, and without feeling like you're missing out. But at the same time each book in a series adds something to the whole.

I liked Jane a lot. She was a character who seemed strong and knew that she was dying, but didn't let that stop her from doing things too much. She couldn't be guilted into things and knew her own mind. Even when it came to Iain she was able to hold her own, even if she was majorly attracted to him!

Iain and the other MacGregor's were highly amusing to read! They had brilliant banter between them and you could really feel the family ties between them. At the same time there was a great sense of protectiveness there. I thought it really added to the characters.

The plot twist in the book worked really well, I liked the fact that the 'enemy' and conflict in the book weren't quite what would be normal or traditional way. It made the book refreshing and enjoyable!
