Donatus is the ultimate bad boy, a reformed Demon now devoted to not allowing the devil to overtake the world. When a new lecturer turns up at the college he works at, Donatus is shocked to discover it is the woman he had claimed in a dream the night before. Ava has no idea that it was Donatus that was with her in her dream, by speaking the incantation she had summoned him in Demon form, but that doesn't stop her from feeling drawn to him and feeling comfort when he is around. Even with her gut feeling, Ava struggles to accept that Donatus is more than human, despite her not being herself.

I need more! I've enjoyed many of Roth's books but Demonic Desires is definitely up there with the best of them, and I was gutted to find out that it wasn't a series! Particularly because there did seem to be some strong chemistry between some of the secondary characters!

One of the things I like about Roth's worlds is that several of them could overlap (as in the mythologies and lore line up) but they could also exist on their own. Each book has such strong world building that I feel truely transported to her alternative existance, and it doesn't take a series to do it.

I loved Ava! She was a kick ass heroine from the very beginning of the story, and she wasn't going to let a man fight her battles for her. Even better than that, Ava was determined to save the male characters around her (admittedly she thought they were only human but still!) and she did it. I liked seeing such a strong female lead even around alpha male characters.

The chemistry between Ava and Donatus was definitely there, and as a reader you're thrown straight into the action. I did also like reading about the not so sexual affect they had on each other, things like Donatus forgetting how to speak properly and Ava saying what she was thinking aloud. I thought it was cute and added something else to their relationship.

I really enjoyed Demonic Desires, and even thought the books don't exist, I really hope for more!
