With the love of his life in hospital, and his brother scheduled for a kidney transplant for which he is the donor, Remington's life is all up in the air. While Selene fights to come back from the attack, Remington ups the search to find the woman that did this, and the one that has been sending him threats and flowers for years...
Mend was a dramatic and satisfying conclusion to the Havoc series. At the end of Obliterate I was definitely feeling the tension and wanting to know what was going to happen next, and Havoc definitely provided. There was drama and suspense as well as a highly satisfying ending.
Mend took Remington and Selene's relationship as established, though they still have their own issues to work through due to the stalker, the attack and secrets, but it also allowed for other interactions. This book introduced both of their parents to the other partner, as well as Selene's sister, Marley. I liked that the parents didn't automatically take to their child's partner, but rather Selene and Remington had to work to gain their approval.
The twist in the plot was one that I hadn't seen coming for the most part. It was only a few paragraphs before the reveal that I even started suspecting what it was, showing both the suspense and the skill with which the author created it. Even after that the twist had a twist, and that one I was clueless about (or as truely clueless as Remington was).
Adrien actually took more of a back seat in this installment of the series, though he was still there and it was clear that Remington and Selene's relationship didn't exist without Adrien in it. Family was such an important thing for both of them and that came through.
This has been a great series, full of love, suspense and action!
