Blog Tour: Dangerously Forever by A M Griffin

I received a copy of Dangerously Forever in exchange for my review.

Since Earth was invaded, Ally has been a slave. First spending time on a slave ship, and then being sold between brothels all over the star system. Despite having it rough, Ally never gives up trying to escape, even if that escape is death, until she becomes responsible for Max and Yoshi, two children that she wants to keep safe. Since being separated from Ally, Eva has been searching, and when she finds her, she charges Kiehle, her mate's brother, to protect her. Kiehle doesn't know for sure what Ally looks like, but when he sees her he knows, and he can't resist her...but can Ally trust him? And is he really returning her to her best friend?

Dangerously Forever dives right in with Ally's story, telling of how she ended up sold between Brothels until she lands at the one where she meets Max and Yoshi. Though she is working as a slave, the only sex that is described is sex that she feels that she is having willingly (whether that is the truth or not is a matter of perspective).

Ally's hardships fed more into her character than the plot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially as her character is kind of central to the plot. Her experiences in the brothel led to her not really trusting anyone other than physically, and wanting to protect others around her. I found it believable, though it showed a great strength of character for her not to have given up considering some of the things that happened to her (most of which are alluded to not described in detail).

Max and Yoshi were both sweet characters, though I often found myself forgetting how young they were. I suppose part of this is inline with what they'd been through when they were kidnapped from Earth, and living in a brothel, so it wasn't unbelivable, just something that I noticed.

Kiehle was another story. As a reader it is clear from the beginning that he is a highly honourable character, he doesn't want to leave anyone to suffer and wouldn't cause anyone harm unnecessarily, well unless he was actually being a warrior. So as a reader it was clear what his intentions towards Ally were, but she didn't really trust him (for the obvious reasons, and I can't say I'd have been happy if she had trusted him!)

The relationship between the two of them seemed to grow quite quickly, though neither of them would admit it (for whatever reason). I found it to be a good pace, they jumped into bed quickly (after all they were at a brothel) but after that the emotional side seemed to develop, and you could see the moments where, especially as Kiehle was very clear about what he found attractive about her.

I really enjoyed reading Dangerously Forever, it was engaging, and a fun read!
