Bear shifter, Derek, came to Deep Falls with the intention of finding a quiet life, until he saves the Sheriff's life and meets his daughter, Honey Potts, a woman that he finds incredibly attractive, and his bear insists is his mate. Though after a bad experience in a relationship he is determined not to let Honey get to him. But Honey knows what Honey wants and is determined to get it. Things aren't quite as peaceful as Derek expected, and he is determined to keep Honey safe and find the culprit.
I really enjoyed Honey and Her Bear, there was much more of a story line than I expected, that may sound bad but what I mean is that there was depth to the story, and even better the characters didn't just jump into bed with each other (though they sure as hell wanted to!)
Both Honey and Derek had to get past some 'issues' to be together. Mainly Derek's issues, he was a very complex character. He wanted Honey, and his bear really wanted Honey, but they argued about how she wanted her in different ways, though really it was the same way, they just argued about it.
Honey as a character was great, she was just a normal woman as opposed to one of the super sexy vixens that often play a part in this genre. On top of that she wasn't one of the annoying virgins who had stayed that way forever, she'd had partners before and was honest about it.

There was nothing ordinary about Honey Potts. From the tips of her Very Berry Pink toenails to the top of her curly auburn head, and every freckled mouthwatering inch of abundant skin in between, she was a force of nature that made Derek’s head spin.
For an experienced bear shifter like him, that could spell big trouble.

“I’m burning up,” she said matter-of-factly, the grin tilting her luscious lips full of wicked mischief. “I thought I’d join you for a swim.” Keeping her eyes on his face, she toed off her tennis shoes and put her hands on the bottom of her sunny top and began to inch it upward.
“Like hell you are.” He made a cutting motion with his hand. “Dammit woman, keep that shirt on or I’ll…”
