Blog Tour & Giveaway: Awakening 3 by Jeanie Grey

I received a copy of Awakening 3 in exchange for my review.

Its been 50 years since Lilly was captured by Sam and tortured, and 50 years since she left Torren with Vittoria. But there is something missing in her life ans she finds herself back in Rome. Running into Torren and Vittoria in the street, Lilly is devastated to find out that Torren has forgotten who she is, but is determined to win him back. Meanwhile there is more going on in the world of the vampires than meets the eye. For Hundreds of years part of the Pact followed by all vampires has involved keeping their existence a secret, except that the argument is that now is the time to announce their existence to the world, though some vampires aren't so sure, and there is a risk of war if the two factions don't agree.

First thing I thought on finishing this book was 'please let there be more!' I'm not saying by any stretch that the story arc wasn't complete in Awakening 3, because it was, in more than one way. The romance was complete, the political issues were resolved. But I just want more from Lilly, Vittoria and Torren. Just want so much more!

Vittoria was certainly an interesting character. She was only introduced very briefly in the previous book, but in this one she started out as a character that I didn't really like at all, and ended up as a character that I actually liked a lot. I thought that it was a really interesting seeing her progress as a character, not just to my eyes but to Lilly's as well.

I really enjoyed the added dimension of vampire politics in this book. I've mentioned before that I like my books to have a bit of politics in, and this gave me that. Not only that but the main character, Lilly, seemed to take an interest in it and seemed to make the moves to start being a leader. Plus her ideas were original.

I really want to see more from the Lilly Frank Series, each book has been different and engaging, and even having a futuristic setting in Awakening 3 didn't detract from the depth of the characters and the story. Definitely worth reading!

Nearly fifty years after the events of Awakening 2, Lilly decides to stop running away and returns to Italy only to find the threat of a vampire civil war growing. With the help of Beth, Carrie and Jamie, Lilly learns how to face her feelings about her tragic past and to accept that, whether Torren wants her or not, her heart wants him. But when she finds Torren in Rome, not only is he still with Vittoria, he doesn’t seem to remember Lilly at all.
Can Lilly convince Torren to leave Vittoria to be with her and help the Organization find a peaceful solution to the conflict, or will Vittoria and a vampire war come between Torren and Lilly and their happily ever after?
