Blog Tour: For Her Spy Only by Robyn DeHart

I received a copy of For Her Spy Only in exchange for my review.

Six years ago, Winifred decided that if she had the reputation then she was going to act on it. Shocked by her brazenness, Alistair finds himself attracted to her like no other woman. After time passes, Alistair finds himself working on a case that leads him to Winifred's door without him even knowing. Once again finding himself intrigued by the woman who's helping with Alistair proposes another affair. Though Winifred's body is all too responsive, she knows that her heart won't survive another affair with Alistair...but will his heart survive too?

I really liked that Winifred was so different from many historical romance heroines. She isn't a blushing virgin (even when she was a virgin) and wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. Basically she was a modern woman wrapped up in pretty dresses. Yet I would like to point out that it worked, I didn't feel like she was out of place in the story at all, which could have been a risk.

Alistair was a very mysterious character, we never really fully discovered what it was that he did working for the Crown, we just know that he did. One thing that was clear was that he felt a lot for Winifred, even if he wouldn't fully admit it to himself.

There were a few passionate scenes between the two characters, though nothing overly descriptive. I thought that they were necessary, otherwise there would have been a slight risk that the book would turn out like one that was written years ago (you know the kind I mean).

I very much enjoyed For Her Spy Only, and will be looking out for others in the series!
