Blog Tour & Giveaway: Burn For Me by Lauren Blakely

I received a copy of Burn For Me in exchange for my review.

Jamie and Smith are good friends, but little do they realise that they are both attracted to one another nor that they both want more to happen between them. Both of them realise that Jamie's good girl character doesn't quite fit with Smith's dirty talking fireman. But one night a dance leads to more, and much to Smith's surprise Jamie suggests that the two of them have one week of no strings attached sex, with a view to her getting Smith out of her system. Though no strings isn't what Smith wants, he takes the opportunity to attempt to capture her heart as well as her body, unfortunately things don't always go quite as planned...

Firstly, I loved the role reversal in this book. Normally you have the heroine being the one more into creating a lasting relationship and the hero being the one to mess it up...well in Burn for Me, Smith is the one determined to get Jamie to fall for him, and she was the one that was making it difficult. Saying that Jamie was a fairly girly girl and Smith was definitely a very manly (and sexy) man, which made the role reversal even better.

I thought that Jamie was actually a really relatable character (though that could just be to me), she liked to read books and was a romantic but was also kind of scared of falling in love (actually the more I think about it the more Jamie seems to be an accurate character for my life, scary as that is! The difference being there's no sexy fireman in my life). Basically I really felt that Jamie was a character with depth, there was much more to her than her relationship with Smith.

Though what a relationship that was! The chemistry sizzled between the two main characters and you couldn't help but feel the emotion growing between them. It was somewhere between sweet and hot. Though because a lot of the things that were said were explained because of the third person narrative, so there was nothing that was really shocking.

I loved reading Burn for Me, it was a hot read with some sweet moments to give it that other edge!

Book Synopsis: She’s the one fire he can’t put out…
Jamie Lansing has had it bad for firefighter Smith Grayson for as long as they’ve been friends. Yes, he’s ridiculously charming and she might stare a little too long at his abs, but his dirty-talking, rough-around-the-edges ways aren’t for her. Plus, she knows that as a serial dater, Smith isn’t the type to settle down. But then a terrible, fantastic, mind-blowing mistake leaves her body craving more than one night.
Smith Grayson has only ever had eyes for one woman in town—his best friend Jamie. But convincing her a relationship between them will work is next to impossible with her refusing to see beyond his past. But when she asks for a week of no-strings-attached sex to get him out of her system, Smith knows this is his one chance to prove he’s not just the man she needs in her bed, but the man she needs in her life.
