Blog Tour: The Seduction Vow by Bonnie Dee

I received a copy of The Seduction Vow in exchange for my review.

Having just broken up with her fiancee after finding out that he had been cheating on her, Graci decides she needs to reinvent herself. Creating a check list of all the things she needs to do, which is topped by losing her virginity. At first Graci plans to have a no strings attached evening, that is until she meets Neal, a musician who unwittingly steals her heart. There are a few stumbles along the way as Graci learns how to be with her new guy, and as friendships that had drifted apart are rekindled.

I really enjoyed this book! There was nothing overly tortured about the two main characters, they were just normal people who had normal break ups and met each other. Admittedly Graci was still a virgin, but that was through choice and I don't think that it actually affected the story particularly. Even if she hadn't been, the man after a big ex would always have been difficult.

What I think I actually liked the most was that The Seduction Vow wasn't just a love story, but it was also a story about friendship. A lot of romance heroines don't even really seem to have friends, and if they do, all they do with their friends is talk about men. Instead The Seduction Vow had a real group of friends, who talked about real things that friends talk about, and yes that did include men, but it also included reminiscing about younger days and going out for drinks and dancing with the girls, all things that people really do.

The relationship that grew between Graci and Neal was also believable, there were no premature declarations of love, and they got on well together (but still had the slightly awkward start to a first date). But there was also a connection there, which I felt was even stronger than their physical attraction for each other, which is rare to find sometimes in books.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Seduction Vow, and would definitely recommend it to romance fans!

about author
Bonnie Dee began telling stories as a child. Whenever there was a sleepover, she was the designated ghost tale teller, guaranteed to frighten and thrill with macabre tales. She still has a story printed on yellow legal paper in second grade about a ghost, a witch and a talking cat. Writing childish stories for her own pleasure led to majoring in English at college. Like most English majors, she dreamed of writing a novel, but didn't have the necessary focus and follow through at that time in her life. A husband, children and work occupied the next twenty years and it was only in 2000 that she began writing again. Bonnie enjoys reading stories about people damaged by life who find healing with a like-minded soul. When she couldn't find enough books to suit her taste, she began to write them.
