Book: Sweet Surrender by Ioana Visan
After the events of The Impaler's Revenge, Liana has been kept busy with the amount of work that has to be done with the Little Council's take over. But Jesse worries about her health, and forces his way to see her using his status as her doctor. But once he has performed his check he resigns, on the grounds that he can't do what he wants with her if he is her doctor still...

This is a short interlude between books 1 & 2 of The Impaler Legacy, and it tells the story of how Jesse and Liana finally got together!
Throughout The Impaler's Revenge it was clear that there was a growing chemistry between the doctor and the Little Council member, and all the way through I really wanted them to get together, and now they have! The main thing that is so great about this relationship is that both participants are human, which seems to be such a rarity in fiction surrounding Vampires nowadays.
This is probably more of an observation on the series as a whole rather than Sweet Surrender itself, but this book seems to span the distance between the traditional horror vampire stories, such as Dracula, where the vampire is pure evil, and books such as Twilight, where quite frankly the vampires end up being pretty harmless. I'm saying that the medium is a good thing, though I do like both the aforementioned types of books too!
Both the books I've read so far in this series have been really enjoyable and I'm looking forward to reading more!
