Short Story: Crimson Realm by Amos Cassidy

Crimson Realm is a short story that is currently published on the Everything Crimson blog, and will stay up until the release of the third novel, within which it will be included. Crimson Realm follows on from Crimson Darkness, and what happens to Lazarus and Roman after the ending.

I thought that Crimson Realm had a different feel to the two books that are currently released in the Crimson series, probably because there were only two characters and very little interaction with other people. Also there was no large story arc (because it is short!) so there is less going on. I'm not saying that this was a bad thing, rather it was just a note on how it was.

There was more of a focus on Roman in Crimson Realm than there was in Crimson Darkness, and it made him seem like much less of a obnoxious idiot (please insert harsher word - have to keep my reviews clean after all!), and more like he really was trying to do the best by everyone. Least he realised that he was really horrible (read a complete -----------) to Rose, and wishes he wasn't.

A good appetite wetter! I really want to know what happens in the next book!

Book: 24 Bones by Michael F Stewart

Contrary to what you might think, the religion of Ancient Egypt is alive and well, in the form of the myth of Seth, Horus, Isis and Osiris. For details of the Legend itself please see the bottom of the review. After this legend three secrets sects were created, the Shemsu Seth, wielders of the Void, the Shemsu Hor, wielders of the Fullness, and the Sisters of Isis, wielders of neither or the balance. Once every 500 years the Fullness wanes and disappears, and the Osiris must be reborn. The battle between Seth and the Wedjet, or Horus, is replayed and balance should be restored. Samiya, known as Sam, was given over to the Shemsu Hor at a young age, in order to fulfill her place in the prophecy, whilst young Dawid, going by David once he leaves Egypt, is branded as part of the initiation ceremony into the Shemsu Hor, but it goes wrong. Many years later the stage is set for the showdown, whether balance or chaos reigns is all dependent on a select few individuals, leading to a race to the 24 Bones of the mythical Spine of Osiris, and ultimately a showdown at a very prolific location!

Bringing an abrupt halt to the easygoing pace of Hamilton’s life, he and his longtime dormant supernatural powers are caught up in the middle of things when his comfort zone is turned into a war zone. Travel & Culture Week Introduction and Invite

After beginning to put out feelers to authors and writers of Travel & Culture books, the response is already greater than I expected (which is a good thing!), and so I have decided that Travel & Culture Week will be happening between the 4th and the 10th of November, which is still plenty of time to get involved!

I already have a diverse range of writers, but if you want to get involved, the more the merrier! My aim is to post during this week interviews, reviews and guest posts, with the possibility of doing a giveaway. If you are interested then please email me at

The reason I have chosen to do Travel & Culture together is because I have found that the barriers between the two are crossed so often that it is nearly impossible to tell the difference anymore!

I'm really excited about doing something different! And I hope you are too!

Guest Post: The Broken Gift by Daniel Friedmann

Have your children ever asked you the question “How did we get here?” What is going on? Kids are taught evolution in school and creationism in Sunday school with both authorities claiming to be right.

Have you found yourself not making much progress in clarifying the topic to their satisfaction? When my nephews and nieces first asked this question. I then discovered that almost every person has at some point in their life pondered the same question. I decided to work through these issues when I  wrote my two books “The Genesis One Code” and “The Broken Gift.”

My new book deals with this topic head on, in a new way.  The Broken Gift carefully examines the relationship between scientific theory and biblical teachings. The book approaches the human origins debate from a fresh perspective informed by both scientific and scriptural research. The book demonstrates alignment between key events and their dates relating to the appearance and early history of our species as described in Genesis

In The Broken Gift,  you’ll discover what Adam and Eve were really like, did Noah, Noah’s ark and the flood really happen. Where is the garden of Eden and much more interesting, fascinating information.

There is also a free companion iPhone app, Bible Clock (, enter Scientific time in the Bible Clock to find the corresponding biblical time and explore what other events were going on around the same time.

What surprises readers the most is that the Bible and Science are mostly in agreement as to what happened and how - although not completely on when it happened, and by studying both the Bible and Science we can get as close as we have ever gotten to understand how we came to be.
So, how did we get here? See if you agree or disagree. Either way, you will be fascinated!

About Daniel Friedmann
Daniel Friedmann is CEO of MDA Corp., specializing in robotics. He has a master's in engineering physics and 30 years' experience in the space industry. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers on space industry topics. He is also a longtime student of cosmology and religion. Having been unconscious for a month, Rose wakes up to find the city she knew in ruins, and to say she is mad would be an understatement. Finally knowing what she is, and the important role which she has to play, Rose joins again with her friends to help save the world, though she also has to battle some personal demons, including the truth about her mother, and her feelings for Roman, and what that means for her.
